Sometimes — if you land before ~9pm and move fast through customs. After that, sleep near the Puerto Juárez ferry and cross in the morning; late-night Isla arrivals are two legs (ground + ferry) and easy to underestimate.

Sometimes — depends on landing time, luggage, ferry schedule, and comfort moving at night. Late arrivals are often easier if you sleep near Cancún or Puerto Juárez once and cross in the morning.

Follow these steps

  1. If early enough, pre-plan transfer + ferry.
  2. If late, budget an overnight near the ferry.

Isla requires ground transport plus ferry — two legs — so late-night arrivals are harder than going straight to Playa.

Treating Isla like a single taxi ride from the airport.

Chris, PlayaStays founder

Hi, I'm Chris — founder of PlayaStays.

I've stayed in Airbnbs across more than 35 countries — from design-led glamping in Patagonia to penthouse condos in major cities. I've learned what makes a property great: photography that earns the click, messaging that holds Superhost standards, and pricing that reads the local market instead of a template. We bring that same eye to every PlayaStays Airbnb in Quintana Roo.
